United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that Ina Crow Dog, age 48, of Rosebud, South Dakota, appeared before United States District Judge Roberto A. Lange on November 5, 2012, and pled guilty to Sexual Abuse. The maximum penalty upon conviction is life in custody, a $250,000 fine, or both.

The conviction stems from an incident that took place on or about between December 1, 2010, and December 31, 2010, when Crow Dog and another individual sexually abused a victim.

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Rosebud Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Marie H. Ruettgers.

A presentence investigation was ordered, and a sentencing date was set for January 28, 2013. The defendant was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal.
